Economic Declaration

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ came with a central message, inviting people to repent (turn) from their own attempts to rule their lives and to accept the real availability of the Kingdom (reign) of God. We believe that this Kingdom changes everything, and that it is advancing toward fulfillment under the leadership of Jesus

WE CONFESS that Christians in the modern Western World, including ourselves, have failed in small and large ways to submit our economic ideals and values to Jesus and his Kingdom.

We RECOGNIZE the lordship of Jesus over every area of our lives, including our possessions, finances and time.

WE AGREE to take the following three radical action items as a witness to the world:

• We commit to give 10% of our income to a local church.
   
• We commit to forgive personal financial debts owed us.
   
• We commit to find creative ways to share our excess with the poor.
